Accounts and Bookkeeping Supervisor

Opportunity to join a commercially astute accountancy firm with a personal, partner-led service aimed at entrepreneurial small, medium enterprises (SMEs), large corporates and high-net worth individuals.
This firm provides a range of services spanning audit, corporate taxation, private client services, VAT, business recovery and forensic accounting, together with a range of sector groups offering specialist industry knowledge.
This role is a supervisory position, working as a senior member of the team under the guidance of the Director and being responsible to a number of specific partners for efficient and timely completion of tasks for their clients.

The duties include:-

· Management and supervision of the bookkeeping and other accounting services carried out by the team
· Carrying out the work if staff are unavailable in order to meet deadlines
· Being responsible for a portfolio of clients for specific partners being able to review and produce the ‘final product’ prior to Partner review
· Liaising with Partners and clients on all aspects of the service being provided
· Meeting potential new clients with partners and assisting in bringing in new work to the practice
The Candidate:

· You will be versatile and as the role involves both in-house and client facing work, the successful candidate must be personable and approachable and have excellent communication skills.
· You must have a good working knowledge of bookkeeping software and be well versed in IT developments.
· You will be a team player with initiative and drive
· The ideal candidate will be creative and enjoy the challenges and diversity that this role offers.
· The candidate must be prepared to travel to clients, most of whom are located within the M25 and London area
· The successful candidate will have sound practical experience in the areas mentioned above, as well as a minimum of 5-6 years experience in managing/supervising staff. 

This role requires the following experience:

· You must be conversant in Excel and SAGE 50 (primary package used) and QuickBooks and other similar types of software programmes
· You must have a thorough understanding and practical experience of double-entry bookkeeping
· You must be able to perform critical review of the Management Accounts
· You must have reasonable knowledge of Statutory accounts disclosure requirements
· You should have a good working knowledge VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax.
· You must be able to work to deadlines
· You must be proactive
· You must possess the desire to succeed
