Accounts Assistant & Compliance Monitoring Analyst recruitment

Main duties:

1ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

• Input of invoices and staff expense claim forms

• Bi-monthly supplier payment runs

• Ad hoc domestic and foreign currency payments/transfers

• Recording and monitoring of direct debit payments

• Supplier statement reconciliations

• Monthly review of aged trial balance and reconciliation to GL

• Dealing with supplier queries

• Filing and scanning of all invoices

• Ensure adherence to internal control procedures

2BANK RECONCILIATIONS

• Production of daily bank reconciliations for all operating bank accounts

• Research of transactions and liaison with senior accountant

• Month end topside preparation, support and journal posting

• Assist Compliance with chargeback procedure

• Any other ad hoc duties relating to bank/cash movements as required

3MONTH END

• Input of fixed assets into fixed asset module

• Maintenance of fixed asset ledger/files

• Monthly reconciliation of fixed asset ledger to GL

• Accrual and prepayment calculation and journal preparation

• Monthly expense analysis preparation

4REGULATORY

• Production of the FSA Daily Capital Adequacy Calculation

• Daily PL output and reconciliation.

5COMPLIANCE

• Responsible for developing and maintaining the compliance monitoring programme and ensuring that it remains up to date with all relevant existing and new FSA regulatory requirements, codes of practices and guidance.

• Provide line management with detailed reports on progress and effectiveness of the monitoring performed and ensure follow up of any issues identified in the monthly monitoring report.  Undertake daily monitoring as and when required.

• Ensure effective oversight of compliance aspects of outsourced functions.

• Work with line management to ensure the firm’s procedures are up-to-date in relation to any changes in the Money Laundering regulations.

• Oversee any outsourced anti-money laundering support functions performed by employees of the U.S. affiliate(s) including any surveillance/monitoring requirements and suspicious activity reporting.

• Work with line management and the Global Compliance team to implement regulatory training including required AML training.

• Ensure the appropriate compliance documentation including without limitation any required compliance manuals or policies and procedures are developed, kept up to date and implemented.

• Assist line management with the provision of compliance guidance on new business, new products, or new services contemplated by the business as required.

• Work closely with US colleagues including the Global Head of Compliance to leverage effective processes.

Additional duties:

• Ad hoc duties as and when required – including:

oFilling of invoices and bank statements.

Education/
Experience:

Essential

• Fluent speaking and written Mandarin and Cantonese.

• Fluent speaking and written English.

• Reconciliation experience essential.

• Accounts payable, fixed assets register maintenance and other month end duties.

• Ability to work under pressure, report to tight deadlines and deal effectively with issues as they arise.

• Good mathematical and analytical skills.

Desirable

• Prior work experience within a derivatives company preferred

• Experience using Great Plains.

• Minimum 3 years regulatory experience within a multi-disciplinary regulated firm

• Knowledge of Equities products

Qualifications:

• Educated to degree level

• Must be studying towards (ACCA or CIMA), or equivalent.

Skills:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Ability to work under pressure and be adaptable

• Ability to work within a matrix management structure and International environment

• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills

• Professional telephone manner

• Service orientated/self-starter attitude – a must have.
