The Business Need

FTSE has established a very strong reputation within the market place for the quality and reliability of its index products and its expertise in dealing with unusual or complex stock events is widely acknowledged. With a strong presence in the European financial markets, and a rapidly growing presence in the North American and Asian markets the company is now looking to increase its market share globally and become the number one provider of index client solutions globally. 

The Finance Team at FTSE is responsible for ensuring that FTSE:

• converts its innovative index products into cash through invoicing and credit control;

• meets its obligations to staff (payroll) and suppliers;

• complies with legislation and regulation (tax, VAT, etc); and

• has the historical and forecast information needed to enable the CEO Group and key executives to make informed decisions.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Contracts and Sales Ledger Supervisor, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the following key areas;

• Invoicing of all new business contracts, and support the Contracts and Sales Ledger Supervisor in the invoicing of all ETF, FIF and Tracker based contracts.

• Setting up of new contracts in the General Ledger

• Managing the inter sales inbox, ensuring all contract stages are logged in a spreadsheet and all contracts are appropriately booked within each quarter

• Monitoring and tracking the status of contracts between sales, legal and the end customers. 

• Completion of new business contract checklist for use in the review of the billing and contract set up within the General Ledger

• Ensuring all contracts are scanned onto the P: and filed appropriately

• Preparing the monthly validation run and performing the initial review to ensure all invoices to be raised are accurate and appropriate.

• Preparing draft credit notes with associated paperwork for review

• Produce regular analytical client analysis for Sales Teams, Senior Finance Executive Group Members.

• Filing of withholding tax certificates, credit note paperwork, and refund   requests.

• Responding to queries from customers and sales teams

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a similar position, with proven experience of dealing with    internal and external customers.

• An organised and proactive/solution driven mindset.

• SUN General Ledger experience is preferable although not necessary

• Good communication skills

• Strong Excel skills
