II. OVERALL PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
Responsible for the accounts payable function, as well as assisting with accounting requirements.
III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Responsibility
- Responsible for data entry of accounts payable invoices for various properties, sites and ownerships.
- Ensure all vendor invoices have appropriate approval and coding necessary for processing, including invoice-matching to purchase orders and contract payment terms, to ensure accurate and timely disbursements
- Ensure accounts payable invoices are processed and paid on a timely basis to avoid penalties, take discounts where applicable, and meet our commitment to pay our suppliers on a timely basis.
- Ensure accounts payable is closed on a monthly basis according to established reporting timetable.
- Resolve accounts payable-related issues as they arise, and follow up with suppliers and/or operational personnel on missing invoices, late billings and overbillings
Assist with accounting requirements includingreconciling supplier statements and producing accounts payable reports as requested. Provide input and ensure adherence to policies and procedures
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Administrative duties including filing, photocopying, printing and mailing out cheques, etc.
Other related duties as assigned
IV. QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements/ Prior Related Experience:
College Diploma in Accounting/Business Certificate with minimum of 2 years accounting experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Role-Specific Skills Knowledge:
Above average organizational and interpersonal skills - multi-tasking team player required.
Solid internal and external customer service and satisfaction.
Knowledge of SAP considered an asset.
Above average data entry accuracy skills.
Computer proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel
Solid knowledge of accounting software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to display initiative and sound judgment.
Good communication skills, written and oral.
