Job Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Supervisor to manage, develop, and coach a team of (up to) 8 Accounting Clerks. The successful person in this role will be a strong leader, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
Key aspects of the position include:
· Staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training development, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.
· Researching and interpreting accounting principles and pronouncements (GAAP), and recommend application to Company
· Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of all financial reports
· Monitoring general accounting systems
· Updating SOX process documentation quarterly as required, complete quarterly SPOQ questionnaires as required and perform/monitor required SOX controls as documented
· Managing complex personnel issues and coach and mentor supervisory direct reports
· Effectively recruiting and retaining quality employees including recommending/negotiating annual salary adjustments for direct reports, prepare, perform, review and approve annual performance reviews and terminate, reward or discipline reporting group
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
· 1-2 years management experience overseeing Clerk level employees
· Experience with 1099 reporting
· Records Information Management experience
Skills and Qualifications:
· Broad knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
· Experience with Accounts Payable helpful
· Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Excel and Access
· Strong writing skills: must be able to prepare formal documents to be presented to both internal senior management and external users
· Must be able to effectively serve as company advocate: negotiate for the company and department, both orally and written
· Complex analytical skills
· Experience in Intercompany transactions and eliminations helpful, but not required
