We currently have an exciting direct hire opportunity for an Collections Manager in Jackson, MI. The Coolections Manager will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of workers engaged in conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts of members. Responsibilities and prospects for professional growth include: Directly supervise 5-8 employees in the Collections Department Responsible for training new employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems Assign workers responsibility for investigating and verifying financial status and reputation of past due member accounts, preparing documents to substantiate findings, and recommending appropriate actions Handle special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment Assign responsibility for investigation of fraud cases and possible legal action and collection for worthless checks and delinquent accounts Establish and update members? credit activities Reviews collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures Audit delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt status to account Coordinates with others, including personnel in credit union branches and credit card companies, to exchange information and update controls Submit exhausted efforts on delinquent accounts to attorney or outside agency for collection Compile and analyze statistical data on fraudulent use of credit to develop procedures designed to deter or prevent future abuses Assist management in the formulation of credit policies Education and experience required: Associates Degree required 1 year of related experience Financial Services experience required Supervisory experience required Basic math skills In addition to working with the most recognized and trusted name in staffing, Kelly employees can expect: Competitive pay Access to a comprehensive employee benefits package including health, prescription, vision, dental, and life and short-term disability insurance Paid service bonus and holidays Portable 401(k) plans Recognition and incentive programs Access to continuing education via the Kelly Learning Center For immediate consideration, click the APPLY NOW button, or refer a friend by clicking the EMAIL THIS JOB link provided.
