Acetylene Loader

Summary:

Load acetylene cylinders for delivery to customers and outlying branches. Unload empties and move to fill racks and/or cylinder storage areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for personal safety and health.
* Ensures a safe healthy work environment.
* Receptive to safety other ongoing training. Attend all Safety meetings.
* Follow all regulatory agency requirements, i.e. DOT, EPA, OSHA, FDA, et. al.
* Follow all safety rules and operating procedures.
* Load pallets with full cylinders and place in storage.
* Load trucks for delivery to customers and outlying branches using store order sheets / manifests.
* Safely operate forklift.
* Perform required pre-trip inspection on fork lift daily.
* Alert production manager of any shortages.
* Be punctual and comply with hourly work schedules.
* Perform all other duties as required and assigned.

* Must be forklift trained.
* Must be 18 years old.
* Ability to work independently.
* Must be able to work occasional overtime and weekends as necessary.
* Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
* If internal, must not have any disciplinary action within previous 90 days.

Education and / or Experience:

* High school degree or the equivalent GED.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
