Action Script Game and Systems Programmer
The Action Script Game and Systems Programmer will leverage a blend of proven skills architecting and implementing object oriented designs to create modularized data-driven code for the purpose of making games. The qualified candidate will have professional experience working with fellow programmers and designers to create game systems and tools. Experience creating reusable code and working with version control systems is key. This is a full-time programming position dedicated to creating massively accessible browser-based games.
Responsibilities:
· Work within a scrum based development environment.
· Work independently on assignments including; front-end, game systems, game features, and tools.
· Create robust and optimized code using data-driven and script-driven techniques.
· Develop level design tools for game development.
Key Skills and Experience:
· You are a skilled programmer whose creativity, knowledge and experience make them stand out from the crowd.
· You have in-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming, code reusability techniques and ActionScript (versions 2 and 3).
· Professional experience working on dynamic, data-driven projects and script-driven animation.
· Solid understanding of how to create robust, reusable and optimized code within Action Script.
· Enjoy developing, porting and refactoring software.
· Have a keen desire to work on all areas of game development, including: game systems, game features, content authoring tools, Front-end GUI and UI programming.
· Experience working within project structures that maximize team collaboration and integration with version control systems such as SVN and perforce.
· Experience using Linux and command shell programming.
· Experience working with other scripting languages such as PHP and C# is a significant bonus.
Qualifications:
· 2+ years professional experience in a similar role.
· You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent training and experience.
· You are fluent in both written and spoken English and possess excellent communication skills.
