Actuarial Analyst

As a key member of the Actuarial department, the Actuarial Analyst will support the company's growth and financial goals by performing data mining and analysis that impacts foundational pricing and risk assumptions. This individual will provide accurate premium rate development, perform financial analysis to improve the competitiveness of our health plans and support reserve development.
Responsibilities include extracting and compiling group specific utilization data to support customer reporting requirements and evaluate actuarial models. This individual will also assist in preparation of annual revenue and claim forecasts to determine group-specific reserves, and develop data reporting capabilities for management.
This role is a growth position which will support our financial development to respond to unprecedented number of anticipated state procurements for integrated dual and complex care products.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or similar degree.
- Must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed two or more actuarial exams or achieved the ASA designation.
- Two or more years of experience working in a corporate environment
- At least an intermediate level of proficiency working with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, calculations. pivot tables, charts, graphs, etc.
- At least a basic level of proficiency with MS Word and Access.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred experience:
- Experience working in finance or the healthcare industry preferred
- One year of experience building actuarial models in SQL, SAS and/or VBA is preferred.
