General Insurance is a division of CommInsure responsible for the Home and Motor insurance portfolios. The team's key areas of focus are pricing, portfolio management, product design, claims management, policy administration, MIS and underwriting.

The purpose of this role is to support the General Insurance business through providing sound pricing and actuarial advice to manage profitability, growth and risk.
More specifically your main duties will include:
- Conduct end-to-end pricing reviews, utilising a range of modelling, data mining and optimisation techniques
- Utilise research and analysis to improve natural hazard pricing (flood, bushfire, cyclone etc.)
- Build monitoring processes to assess performance of pricing recommendations
- Undertake analytical reviews for a range of activities across the General Insurance business, including; claims, contact centre, underwriting, product and reinsurance
- Involvement in the General Insurance budgeting and forecasting process
To be successful for this fantastic opportunity you must have:
- Undergraduate degree required preferably in actuarial studies, statistics, mathematics or other technical discipline
- At least 1 year of actuarial or general insurance industry experience
- Very high level of technical acumen
- Understanding of business processes and data, systems and analytical methods
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a busy commercial environment and be able to manage competing priorities
- Ability to communicate complicated technical messages in a simple manner to the business
