Actuarial Analyst (graduate trainee) recruitment

• Liaising with Investment Management colleagues, BROADSTONE colleagues and external third party administrators

• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with BROADSTONE standards

• Analysing data and identifying potential errors, inaccuracies or incomplete data records

• Carrying out technical calculations relating to individual members of pension schemes for review by colleagues E.g. early / late retirement quotations, trivial commutations, transfer values

• Carrying out technical calculations relating to pension schemes for review by colleagues E.g. actuarial valuations, preparation of accounting disclosures under FRS17, IAS19 and FAS87

• Other ad hoc duties as designated by Actuarial Manager or Directors – Actuarial Services

• The role assumes no prior knowledge of the UK pensions industry

• Mathematics ‘A’ level (or international equivalent) at grade A or B minimum

• Mathematics (or other suitable) degree at 2:1 level minimum

• FIA or FFA professional qualification will be supported

• Highly numerate and literate

• Ability to readily absorb technical information

• Strong team-working and communication skills

• Computer literacy including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint an advantage
