UMass Critical Care Service Line is developing a mobile critical care team to manage patients with critical illness while awaiting placement in our ICUs. These patients may be in the ED or PACU areas and require high levels of care. The ideal candidates will be experienced in critical care, be able to think independently and provide front line critical care for this patient population. This position will also include working alongside our eICU staff and the affiliate practitioners in our 6 medical and surgical ICUs.
Excellent interpersonal skills, experience relevant to critical care and a strong work ethic is required.
Summary: Conducts comprehensive health assessments, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and expert skill in the diagnosis and treatment of complex responses of individual, families, and communities to actual or potential health problems. Formulates clinical decisions to manage acute and chronic illnesses and promote wellness. Integrates education, research and management, leadership and consultation into clinical role and functions in collegial relationships with nursing peers, physicians, professionals and others who influence the health care environment. Provides health care in accordance with standards of practice as outlined by the American Nurses Association.
Qualifications: MSN degree with current Massachusetts license registration required. Graduate of approved Nurse Practitioner program with certification, and 3-5 years of experience.
REQUIRED:
- Mass NP License, ANCC acute care certification
- Mass Controlled Substance Registration, DEA registration
- ACLS, BLS
- Preferred: previous critical care or acute care inpatient experience, previous Neurology or Neurosurgery experience.
- Position requires day, night, weekend, and holiday coverage on a rotating basis.
