Administrative Assistant I – Part

BASIC FUNCTION:
Performs a variety of administrative functions.  Schedules appointments, gives information to callers, composes memos, transcribes notes, and researches and creates presentations.  Generates reports, handles multiple projects, and prepares and monitors invoices and expense reports.  May assist with compiling and developing the annual budget.  Responsible for ordering supplies for the unit.

EDUCATION:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Desired:
High school diploma with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures of an Administrative Assistant role.
Desired:
Prior experience as an Administrative Assistant.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Required:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes and Excel. 
Desired:
Experience with PowerPoint.
NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Required:
Customer focused, positive "can do" attitude, high degree of initiative, ability to handle multiple duties, prioritizes tasks and ensures all assignments are delivered on time.
OTHER:
Required:
Good verbal and written communications skills, ability to effectively communicate within HSB and with outside vendors.
