Administrative Assistant Job in Edmonton T0e1s0, Alberta Canada
Our client in the environmental industry is currently seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant for their offices in Niton Junction, Alberta. This position has an immediate start on a temporary part-time basis for 24 hours/week, mandatory on Mondays Fridays, plus one additional day chosen by the successful candidate. This will be a contract position for 3-6 months, with a strong possibility of going permanent.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provides confidential administrative and secretarial support.
- Answers telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner, relaying messages and providing information in accordance with organizational policy.
- Develops an understanding of organizational structure, operations, general department activities and policies in order to answer questions and direct inquires.
- Purchase Orders processing – Set up vendors, issues purchase orders, purchase order tracking monitoring, invoice approval and submission to Corporate
- Assist with safety compliance requirements for the Corporate Safety Standards – Minutes for Branch Safety Meetings, tracking monitoring of PPE, arrange Safety training, electronic filing of safety documents when needed
- Work in conjunction with field staff, sales and management to ensure all daily tasks are completed
Qualifications Include:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative role
- Accurate data entry skills with an acute attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
- Proficient with Microsoft office (preferences to working knowledge of excel spreadsheets and formulas)
- Working knowledge of SAP would be an asset
- Strong understanding in the handling and processing of Accounts Payable / Receivable
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet specific deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate well to all levels of Divisional personnel – field operators to Senior Management
- Strong interpersonal skills, be highly adaptable and can work as a team or individually
