Administrative Assistant Job in Edmonton T5T 6X7, Alberta Canada

The Administrative Assistant position will be split into 2 parts; 60% of its focus will be administrative support to the VAS (Value Added Services) Team which will include but is not limited to:  Claims Advocacy, Transportation, Property and Casualty Risk Management.  The balance of the role will support the Document Management Supervisor with desktop publishing tasks as required. 

 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

 

·         Deal effectively with VAS Team

·         Manage workload according to importance and prioritize effectively

·         Ability to create presentations in PowerPoint in a short turnaround time

·         Preparation of Excel spreadsheets to track data for various projects

·         Creating Word documents and proofing documents for accuracy before being sent to a existing or potential client

·         Attend team meetings

·         Attend various training programs internally or externally to gain industry knowledge and build on business acumen competency

Qualifications:

 

·         3-5 years experience in an administrative role.

·         Secondary education in administration would be an asset.

·         Effective listening skills

·         Lead by example in all interactions with staff and colleagues, demonstrating behaviours in support of teamwork, maintaining a professional approach at all times and upgrading personal knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis.

·         Effective verbal and written communications skills

·         High level of accuracy and attention to detail required

·         Ability to work independently and within a team

·         Positive and self motivated

·         Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment

·         High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.

·         Advanced overall knowledge in a Windows environment 

·         Excellent organization, planning and prioritizing skills

·         Ability to meet deadlines and communicate the status of assignments

·         High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability with shifting priorities
