Position: Administrative Collections Manager, Cataldo Ambulance Service, Inc. (Somerville, MA)
Overview:
The Administrative Collections Manager oversees the Collections Dept. which consists of Customer Service, Collections and working closely with the Billing and Accounts Receivable Department. It is the responsibility of the Administrative Collections Manager to insure that the department is adequately staffed and maintain a high level of productivity consistent with the volume of business. In addition, there are numerous part-time evening collectors whose main function is to obtain insurance information, while resolving and collecting on delinquent accounts.
Requirements: Candidate must have
• Bachelors Degree (Business) with minimum of five years experience
• Knowledge of current/ongoing collections laws in a high volume, busy environment
• Knowledge of 3rd party billing and reimbursement methodologies
• Computer Proficiency - MS Office software, AS400 and all reporting software including ad hoc reporting
• Strong leader, organizing and managing approximately eight people to achieve maximum claim resolution/collection results
Duties required:
• Review aged trial balance reports on a weekly basis and monitor activity
• Review all 3rd party denials
• Oversee the collection of delinquent accounts
• Review all delinquent accounts for potential bad debt write-off or Credit Bureau assignment
• Negotiate settlements with attorneys when necessary on lien cases
• If necessary, authorize discounts with insurance company brokers for faster reimbursement
• Ability to negotiate, understand and implement guidelines on insurance contracts
• Work with the Vice-President and Office Manager
