The Administrative Director of Laboratory at Austin Regional Clinic oversees and directs all laboratory functions for the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with all legal requirements and government regulations that affect the laboratory (OSHA, COLA, CLIA, FDA, Medicare, and State). The ARC laboratory system is COLA certified and consists of 2 waived labs, 5 high complexity, and 10 moderate complexity laboratories located throughout the Austin area. The laboratory department performs 400 different tests with a volume of over 3 million tests per year. The reference laboratory performs 300-400 molecular tests daily. The laboratory management team has a goal of achieving ISO 15189 certification for the entire laboratory system by 2014. This position has a great laboratory support group of approximately 100 staff, some of which have been with the organization many years. The Director will work closely with the clinic Center Managers who have day to day operational responsibility for the lab personnel working in the various clinics. The position is being vacated due to the retirement of the current Director after 29 years of service.
