Randstad is searching for hardworking, reliable, and professional candidates to work an event for the week of April 22nd through April 27th. College students looking for a paid internship please apply! Training will be provided to the individuals selected. These candidates will be given assignments based on experience in background for the following positions: AV Conference Assistant: Works well with people and are physically capable of working long hours and hustling when needed. Workers need to be dependable and willing to learn from training. Training will include overall information regarding the symposia, conduct of the meeting, filling out tracking forms, use of the audiovisual equipment as trained and daily procedures. Conference Assistants/Desk Staff: Working as directed for AV Supervisor, or meeting manager and communicating with Chairs and Speakers in a professional manner. Track authors in program for cancellations, no shows, and substitutions. Take periodic head counts and track equipment use. Operate lights, monitor room environment, and monitor projection equipment. Room Monitors: This position is designated to specific zones that the room monitor will be responsible for. Typically between one and three rooms maximum, all within the immediate proximity of each other. Responsibilities are checking lighting, temperature, making sure AV equipment (microphones, projectors, computers) are all working properly. Room monitors will also be walking back and forth between rooms to count the number of attendees in each of their rooms at designated intervals, as well as keeping an eye on maximum numbers and possible overflowing of rooms. Average Length of day: 4 to 12 hours Working hours: 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. AV Desk: The AV Desk position is one of customer service and heightened responsibility. The AV Desk person will work all day with the AV Manager and other staff to the Speaker Check- in Desk. Duties will involve some basic data entry, answering questions from attendees, organizing the desk, and materials for the day, being able to cover for room monitors, and the ability to self- manage, as there may be short periods where the AV Desk person is left to cover the desk on their own. Average length of day: 12 hours Runners: The Runner position is another position where this person will need to be able to self- manage their duties and perform activities in a very time-critical manner. From morning setups, to acquiring, and delivering packages, or information to the various venues being used during this meeting, the Runner can anticipate walking long distances, often outdoors, and locating and interacting with various staff. Evening runners will often be left on their own to monitor an event until it closes, and be responsible to return and necessary equipment to the AV Desk, and sign out in a responsible time, or know when to contact a representative if something has changed. The runner will be reachable on walkie-talkie at all times. Average Length of Day: 12 hours (Evening Runners: 4 hours). Dress code: business attire or business casual.
