POSITION SPECIFICATION

 

Company Overview:

The company ($7B) is a global leader in Medical Technology for medical and surgical equipment.  Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced, results driven professional in the advanced manufacturing engineer field.

 

Requirements:

 

The successful candidate will play a leadership role in the development of new processes and collaborate with RD, Materials, Marketing, and Cost Accounting on new product development.

 

The selected candidate will have responsibility for the new product development gates, including planning, design/process, preproduction and production.  He or She will also serve as the voice of operations in the development process and work on design for manufacturability and assembly.

 

·         B.S. Engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing from ABET accredited program). M.S. Engineering preferred.

·         A minimum of 10 years progressive experience (regulated industry) in new product development in highly technical environments (product concept to exit).

·         Class 3 medical device experience.

·         Speaks German is a major plus.

·         Basic computer skills (word processing spreadsheets).

·         Strong experience in converting concepts to CAD models.

·         Superior experience in planning and executing formal Process Validation procedures.

·         Ability to coordinate and execute formal Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis.

·         Conceptualize and design custom production process equipment and fixtures.

·         Must be able to implement a sustainable process and have experience in calibration and preventive maintenance programs.

 

Primary Job Functions

 

·         Lead the development of new processes and collaborate with RD, Materials, Marketing, and Cost Accounting.

·         Responsible for leading the new product development gates, including planning, design/process, pre-production, and production.

·         Serve as the voice of operations in the development process and work on design for manufacturability and assembly.
