Advanced Nurse Practitioner
ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER – Wiltshire
Hays Healthcare are looking to recruit An Advanced Nurse Practitioner who can work autonomously to provide unscheduled out of hours (OOH) care. Working for the leading provider of OOH care in Wiltshire, the job will operate from Primary Care Centres. The ideal candidate will be a senior nurse with management experience.
The post holder will provide OOH unscheduled care through the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge or referral of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed injury/illness, or acute exacerbation of existing conditions. Responses to requests for home visits will be carried out using a fully equipped medical car and driver. Support from mobile doctors will be available.
As the role is purely out of hours, the respective sites will be open from 18:30 – 08:00 Monday to Thursday, and then 18:30 – 08:00 from Friday through to Monday morning.
Operating alongside other clinicians you will work across the service providing leadership and ensuring continuity of communication, decision-making and projects. The post holder will ensure high standards of care and provide clinical support to Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Therapy Support, Call Handlers and Social Care staff.
Skills and qualifications essential to support this role include:
· Registered Level 1 Nurse with current registration
· At least 1 years experience as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner
· Diploma / degree in relevant subject
· Evidence of on-going learning and commitment to personal development
· Non-medical prescribing
· Physical examination and clinical reasoning skills
· Minimum of 5 years post registration experience
· An understanding of the urgent care pathway
· Current experience of non-medical prescribing
· Evidence of clinical judgement and decision making skills
· Familiarity in the use of IT systems, e.g. MS Office
