JOB SUMMARY: Participate actively to the RD project by promoting Equinox Sourcing strategy defined by IPO and buy selecting new sources in order to achieve BoM’s target
SOURCING ROLE
- This position requires an experienced, highly motivated and energetic individual to :
- Represent IPO in all new project review
- Promote EQUINOX Procurement/Sourcing strategy in all new projects
- Ensure collaboration and communication is effective between suppliers and Equinox engineers, ensuring early design involvement and integration of existing designs into new products.
- Complete Dashboards of those new projects, including BOM’s cost, Value added and specific KPI’s with help of the other Commodity managers and NPI organization.
- Inform Project Manager about evolution and progress done on sourcing, costing and pending issues
- Supervise new supplier selection through FAR process or with the Help of our EMS
- Introduce with the help of the Sourcing manager, continuous quality improvement programs, cost reduction programs with those key partners and participate to the develop “Best in Class’ supplier strategies defined by the Procurement organization
- Introduce procurement strategy with some suppliers (VMI, Buffer program)
- keep updated on technology roadmaps and risk of obsolescence with the help of EOL responsible on those new projects
- Manage R D and NPI procurement for Prototype, especially for critical components
- Work with legal department in the development of Non-discloser agreements and other contracts especially for new suppliers not used in legacy products.
- Develop and manage milestone schedules, track critical path activities, understands risk mitigation plans and communicates effectively with core team members.
- Work with EMS partner manager to establish final product costs before Mass production introduction
- On a weekly basis Report to the CPO status of the project
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 10 years senior purchasing, with extensive R D background, experience with Global Companies providing PC OEM or technical products and EMS manufacturing providers
- Experience managing complex supplier – partner relationships in constrained market conditions.
- Demonstrate technical understanding and experience in the following commodity areas:
- Printed circuit boards and flex circuits
- Silicon based IC’s (microprocessors, memory, linear)
- Power supplies (switching and linear).
- LCD displays
- Specialty communication I/F modules (IRDA, Blue Tooth, RF)
- Printers
This experience should include a thorough understanding of the global technology providers and the market/technical forces that drive supply/demand/cost for these products.
- Demonstrated proficiency in program management, contract negotiation and administration
- Must be able to read and understand component data sheets/specifications and discuss with engineering groups.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and remotely
- Good structured problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Proficiency using:
o Oracle or similar ERP system
o Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
o Microsoft Office Suite (Access/Project)
o Experience with Agile software is a plus.
Education:
- BS or technical degree required. MBA or engineering degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement programs such as TQM, Six Sigma, Lean/Agile, etc
