Advisor

The Business Process Optimization Advisor position manages complex, cross-functional projects with end points of increased revenue, improved margin, cost reduction, or improved customer satisfaction. A dynamic business environment encourages the use of various process improvement approaches (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, DMAIC, IDOV) and the Process Advisor champions and actively participates in Specialty’s Lean Six Sigma Program. The Advisor also provides support for system implementations and conducts research and analysis on processes or activities on an ongoing basis.
May have Business Process Analysts and/or other project team members reporting to him/her during projects.

Illustrative responsibilities include:
•Managing cross-functional projects;
•Coordinating project implementation;
•Actively participating in continuous process improvement efforts;
•Providing support for system and/or business process change after system change implementation
•Conducting research, performing analysis and providing recommendations of business processes or activities as necessary

Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Advisement and Leadership
•Lead, participate in, or support cross-functional project teams
•Develop project meeting agendas and minutes
•Schedule and facilitate project team meetings
•Maintain project charter documentation
•Communicate and present project status and results
•Coordinate implementation and control efforts to ensure forecasted benefits are achieved and sustained
•Incorporate Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology into projects as necessary
•Track ongoing and completed projects and associated cost savings
•Participate in and assist with coordination of Kaizen events

Support for system and/or business process change after system change implementation
•Participate in deployment-related activities as required
•Assist with training and rollout needs
•Assist with on-going staff support post-deployment

Conduct research, perform analysis and provide recommendations for business processes or activities as necessary

Location open to Specialty Pharmacy sites
Education: Bachelor's degreee in Business Administration, Pharmacy or equivalent work experience required. One additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained.
Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in process management; 5 years leadership experience in process improvement, operations analysis, or operations management; process management experience in health care preferred; demonstrated ability to manage process improvement programs.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities: Demonstrated ability to determine key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multi-disciplinary perspectives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information and instruction. Excellent PC skills required. Good interpersonal/communication skills required. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt certification is preferred. In the absence of certification, training in Lean or Six Sigma is desirable, with the intent to become a Green Belt within the first 6 months of hire.

Work is typically focused on project management, mentoring, and/or process improvement. May include directly overseeing operational programs/services. Key abilities include:

•Extensive knowledge of Specialty Pharmacy’s business processes and systems.
•Proven experience leading operational improvement efforts including project management
•Demonstrated team facilitation skills
•Ability to meet deadlines and satisfy customers with multiple conflicting priorities
•Ability to effectively interact one-on-one with all levels of management
•Strong communication skills, including aptitude for writing, fact gathering, and analysis
•Strong presentation skills
•Demonstrated understanding of process mapping and documentation, and process analysis using Lean Six Sigma techniques
•Extensive computer skills including Excel, Visio, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
