Position Overview
The European Advisory Group is responsible for several valuation mandates – these are mainly focused on European RMBS and CMBS, but include material numbers of esoteric, corporate and infrastructure assets. The successful candidate will assist more senior members of the team with the execution process focusing on CMBS and have the opportunity to pursue a wide range of research and development projects. Execution work involves implementing/modifying assumptions, running our internal models, as well QC of results. This taskrequires a detailed understanding of the assets themselves (collateral details, triggers, waterfalls etc.) The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work with a variety of technologies.
Essential Job Functions
• Running models across several mandates.
• Liaison with macroeconomists
• Assistance with model development
• Researching various aspects of the securities that we cover.
• Participate as a member of project execution team with primary responsibilities that include providing value-added financial review, analysis (including transaction modelling) and reporting to senior members of the Advisory group.
• Assist in QC process to ensure results are reasonable.
Requirements
A minimum of 2:1 from top university in a finance subject
• The candidate will be strong analytically and be able to learn about Commercial Real Estate and CMBS ( and other assets class like Infrastructure) and to run tools evaluating loans/bonds across a variety of economic scenarios
• Good understanding of credit risk drivers and grounding in fixed income mathematics
• Problem solving skills -ability to solve complex problems with limited data and under tight deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of VBA is ideal
Candidates must have experience in credit risk in either the structured finance, corporate or infrastructure sectors.
• Additional European language(in addition to English), especially Spanish, is a plus but not required
This is a junior role and we are ideally looking for applications of candidates with up to 18 months experience
