Aerodynamicist

Job Location: Banbury, UK   
        

The main purpose of the role is to generate aerodynamic surfaces using CAD, check them for legality and run CFD flow solutions or wind tunnel tests incorporating the designed surfaces. 

This role will be particularly attractive to highly competent Aerodynamicists who are keen to “break out” in a new exciting and challenging environment, where extensive aerodynamicist experience can be harnessed and where we trust our colleagues to do an impeccable job! 

Candidates will have a proven track record of delivering excellent results within their field, critically analysing results and reporting them to the business in a clear and comprehensive manner.

We are in the process of combining our established CFD capabilities with wind tunnel technologies and are seeking candidates who can harness these tools to the best effect.

We are looking for an Aerodynamicist with 2-5 years’ experience.

5.0   Core Tasks:   

 

·         Design geometry for CFD and Wind Tunnel Tests

·         Analyse CFD and wind tunnel results

·         Attend wind tunnel tests as required

·         Liaise with other departments, such as FE and Design Departments

·         Manage own time in order to meet agreed deadlines

·         Proactively report and present analyses within the aero teams and across the company as required.

10 Skills and Qualifications

·         Qualified to degree level or equivalent in Aerodynamics or equivalent qualification

·         Qualified at A-Level mathematics and physics or equivalent

·         Familiar with F1Technical regulations and up to date with current CFD and wind tunnel techniques

·         CAD Literate – NX desirable, however candidates with relevant experience of other CAD packages will also be considered.

·         Proven experience of working in a similar Aerodynamics Role within a fast paced environment

·         F1 experience desirable however candidates with aeronautical or automotive backgrounds will also be considered

·         Proficient at using Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel Powerpoint) 

·         Understanding of some of the wider inputs and issues associated with car design

·         An appreciation and willingness to develop in the role and learn from other business areas

·         Demonstrates an absolute passion for your area of work, your colleagues and a genuine care for the results you achieve.

·         Proven experience of problem solving, working accurately methodically, often under pressure and to tight deadlines.

·         Proven experience of report writing

·         Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing

·         Strong team player, trustworthy, reliable flexible.

·         Exceptionally self-motivated.
