Overview:
Whether working as part of our Defense, Space Security Business, Commercial Airplanes, or Engineering Operations Technology business units, you’ll be a part of the team behind some of the industry’s most cutting-edge technology and advances. Aerodynamics Engineers develop technical solutions that range from simple ones to solutions that form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories and products. In this role, you could develop new technologies or improve existing technologies, tools and processes, improve vehicle performance and reduce cycle time and cost, or find yourself consulting on current or new aerodynamic/aerothermodynamic analysis, design and testing.
Sample Responsibilities, Based on Experience:
- Assists with certification and qualification processes of the aerodynamic/aerothermal characteristics of flight vehicles.
- Assesses the impact of proposed regulations to determine the effect on cost, performance, producibility, maintainability and safety.
- Conducts, coordinates and/or develops test requirements to meet multi-disciplinary test objectives using new or established processes.
- Operates at the enterprise level to shape the market by proposing technology development plans and new innovative designs, as well as leading teams in solving complex multi-disciplinary issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
- ABET is preferred, although not required.
- Master’s degree or PhD with related experience is required for more senior levels.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerodynamics or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
