Job Description
Triumph Group Inc. is a leader in the design, development, manufacturer, repair, sales, and life cycle support of aircraft control and actuation systems and structures. Triumph Aerospace Systems Seattle’s function is to design and integrate systems and structures aboard customer airframes utilizing the broad capabilities of the companies within the Triumph Group companies.
We are seeking versatile mechanical engineers and technical designers to fill the following roles:
a) Landing gear design engineer
b) Hydraulic component design engineer
c) Dynamic modeler for analysis of landing gear and various hydro-mechanical systems
d) Aircraft systems project engineer
The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in one or more of these areas. Expect an extremely flexible team and employee oriented environment.
1. Landing Gear/Hydraulic Component Design Engineer
a. Responsibilities
i. Kinematic layout of landing gear mechanisms
ii. Design of air/oil shock absorbers
iii. Detail design of landing gear structural members and mechanisms
iv. Integration of wheel/tire/brake and actuation/control/indication systems
v. Landing and flight loads analysis
vi. Interfacing with customers and suppliers
vii. Hydraulic component design (linear actuators, spool valves, solenoid valves)
viii. Spatial and system integration of hydraulic components
ix. Component performance requirements development with customer
x. System and component development, validation and qualification test requirements
xi. Experienced with wide variety of aircraft systems (Landing Gear, Braking Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Flight Control Systems)
b. Requirements
i. Landing gear design or test or maintenance experience
ii. 3-D modeling (Solid works and or CATIA experience)
iii. Stress analysis experience is a plus (using FEA and Classical methods)
iv. Proficient with MS Office tools ( Excel, WORD, MS Power Point, MS Project)
v. Ability to support customer in developing and refining requirements
vi. Assertive team player who is self motivated and enjoys working in a team environment and works well with others.
vii. 5 years’ experience minimum in related field
viii. Bachelors Degree (BS) in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
2. Dynamic Modeling
a. Responsibilities
i. Dynamic analysis of hydro-mechanical and electromechanical systems.
ii. System performance optimization
iii. Interacting with designers and customers
iv. Support wide range of aircraft systems (Landing Gear Shocks retraction Systems, Flight Controls, Cargo Door, Wing Fold, Ramp actuation, Rotor Blade Damping/Folding, Brakes, Steering etc.)
b. Requirements
i. Dynamic modeling experience using Easy 5, ADAMS or Matlab simulink
ii. 3-D modeling is desired (Solid works and or CATIA experience)
iii. Aircraft systems experience is desired
iv. Proficient with MS Office tools ( Excel, WORD, MS Power Point, MS Project)
v. Ability to support customer in developing and tuning requirements
vi. Assertive team player who is self motivated and enjoys working in a team environment
vii. 5 years’ experience minimum in related field
viii. Bachelors Degree (BS) in mechanical, aerospace engineering, or physics
3. Project Engineer
a. Responsibilities
i. Technical leadership of product focused team(s)
ii. Project management skills.
iii. Experienced in the design, development and support of hydraulic and mechanical components and systems for aerospace.
iv. Management of program schedule, budget, risk and technical performance
v. Primary technical point of contact for both internal and external customers.
vi. Perform complex engineering analysis and problem solving methods to support new product development and / or sustaining production.
b. Requirements
i. Ability to lead technical teams in the design, development, qualification, and certification for assigned products.
ii. Proficient with MS Office tools ( Excel, WORD, MS Power Point, MS Project)
iii. Familiarity with engineering and project management tools and methods.
iv. Aircraft Landing Gear, Hydraulics, or Flight Controls design experience
v. Ability to support customer in developing and refining requirements
vi. Assertive team player who is self motivated and enjoys working in a team environment
vii. Bachelors Degree (BS) in mechanical or aerospace engineering
viii. 5 years’ experience minimum in related field with project leadership experience
