No Security Clearance Required about security clearance definitions Position Description The 747/767/777 Interiors Engineering organization is seeking an exceptional individual for a certification engineer position within the Interiors Certification group. As a certification engineer you are responsible for assisting the interior arrangement ARs or ARits in managing the technical, tactical, and project management aspects of certification for all compliance type activities for interior commodities. This position requires extensive coordination with the commodity design groups, regulatory administration, FAA, customer engineering, factory personnel and representatives across multiple product lines and airplane models. This position requires the certification engineer to ensure emergent fleet issues are expeditiously coordinated and communicated across multiple technical/safety review boards in collaboration with the Safety and Service Engineering departments as well as with the AR/ARit community. Additional expectations include supporting group efforts related to quality, lean and process improvement initiatives. A successful candidate will have superior leadership, project management and technical skills and should be comfortable communicating complex technical items at all levels of management. Candidates must also be able to effectively prioritize multiple projects in support of key milestones and aircraft delivery schedules. Knowledge of Part 25 Federal Aviation Requirements is preferred. A diverse technical background and a general knowledge of manufacturing processes are helpful. Occasional travel to domestic and international sites may be required. Note: Based on need, the certification engineer role can also be the first step in becoming an interior arrangement AR. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years experience, Master's with 7 or more years experience or PhD with 4 or more years experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
