Commodities include crude oil and petroleum products, non-ferrous concentrates, refined metals and coal.
In 2011, we traded 110.7million tonnes of oil and petroleum products and shipped 26.7million tonnes of non-ferrous and bulk commodities. We operate responsibly, adding real value for our clients, our stakeholders and our shareholders. Founded in 1993, the company is owned by its founding shareholders and senior management. It has achieved substantial growth in recent years, growing turnover from USD18 billion in 2004 to USD122 billion in 2011.
Main Purpose:
This role is London based but will involved frequent travel to Geneva. The salesperson will be working closely with our investor relations team based in London and will report to the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Galena Asset Management currently has six funds and this is expanding its business into Private Equity.
Key Responsibilities:
Typical tasks will include (but not limited to):
- Identifying and actively targeting new clients through meetings, events and road shows
- Building and developing existing relationships
- Promoting existing products
- Assisting the investor relations team with Due Diligence
- Ensuring the regular update of the CRM
- Ad hoc projects and tasks
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Sound academic background
- Circa 3 years experience in Hedge Funds sales
- Good knowledge in commodities
- Proactivity - the ideal candidates will be reuired to develop the roles in order to provide the optimum level of support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including good telephone manner).
- Ability to develop effective relationships with senior people both internally and externally.
- Good knowledge of Excel, Work, Outlook and PowerPoint
- French language (to business level) highly desirable
