The South Bend, Indiana, site includes Integrated Supply Chain and Engineering operations that specialize in the following product lines: wheels, brakes, fuel controls and fuel accessories.
The Aerospace Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) organization is responsible to partner with Engineering, Program Management and Operations to drive value engineering and new product development initiatives into Aerospace products and services focusing on product cost, manufacturability, and factory readiness. The AME organization currently has an opening for a Product Line Manager. The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Actionable, detailed product line cost reduction roadmap that integrates all ISC functions. Success will be defined by performance to the roadmap execution plan and actual Product Cost reductions
- Develop specific products cost roadmaps by working with Global sourcing, Strategy and Integration, Site Manufacturing and Assembly Operations, MPM, Value Engineering, and Engineering to support new pursuits.
- Influence commodity sourcing strategies on basis of Product Line and technology trends
- Establish and drive product line specific globalization plans and strategies by partnering with Global Sourcing and IPO
- Influence the Make versus Buy decisions for responsible product line
- Champion and Leader for leading the responsible product line through culture change of improved product cost basis
- Responsible for consolidating inputs from Strategy Integration, Engineering, Sourcing, MPM, AME and business segments to develop and maintain the product line specific ISC/manufacturing strategy
- Key ISC interface with MPM organization to develop STRAP and AOP plans (value engineering, engineering ISC support, etc) to ensure that strategic objectives are met
- ISC focal point on Product Team (PT) to steer product strategic decisions and align with ISC resources and priorities
- Responsible for reviewing and validating green sheets for new programs
- Manage responsible budgets of Value Engineering
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- All pursuits related to Wheels Brakes and Fuel Controls
- Manufacturing strategy for WB and Fuel Controls
- Manage SBU funding and Program priorities for WB and Fuel Controls
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years combination of Business or Project Management experience.
- Due to ITAR restrictions, must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Additional Qualifications
- MBA highly desirable.
- Ability to co-ordinate all efforts with existing Honeywell values and enabling tools, including Six Sigma, Lean and DigitalWorks. to drive continuous improvement.
- Black Belt and/or Lean Expert desired.
- Ability to influence and provide multi-functional leadership across multiple sites, cultures and various businesses.
- Good understanding of functions like engineering, marketing, ISC, business segments and the linkages between them.
- Ability to multi-task projects and assess priorities in a complex and demanding environment.
- Most significantly, has a strong record of working in a matrix environment with a focus on building relationships and driving improvements over multiple locations.
- Possesses excellent overall leadership skills.
- Ability to develop strategic concepts into an executable plan.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Self-starter who takes the initiative, and is well organized, detail oriented and self motivated.
