Asset Management International (AMI) is a London-based UK asset management subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. AMI's dedicated professionals provide world class, multi-lingual Sales, Marketing and Client Service to investor s which include some of the world's largest pension funds and institutions, local authorities, treasuries and family offices.
The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Data Analyst to join our London office.
The Team
The role of Commercial Analytics is to support the BNY Mellon Asset Management International distribution business through: information provision, analysis and insight on the distribution activities of BNY Mellon Asset Management's multi-boutique investment products. The current agenda for the team focuses effort on the following areas of the business:
Product / Client Type analysis and policies
* Distribution insight and information provision
* Application development initiatives
* BAU reporting and application management
Role Profile
This role would be ideal for someone looking for a role that will provide opportunities to contribute to provision of business and commercial intelligence and insight across the company whilst supporting several development projects geared towards providing a 1st class commercial and business intelligence service:
* The role provides some visibility to senior business management, country heads and sales people through the delivery of information that drives business decisions and understanding
* It is an excellent opportunity to build a thorough understanding of the EMEA business, its sales channels and products
* Supporting the team in collaborating with Product Development, RFP, Marketing, and Client Service teams affords further insight into the distribution teams, our mutual fund vehicles, and institutional client base.
Key Responsibilities
* To help ensure that our management information is readily available (via a data warehouse), timely and accurate, thus aiding decision making in our business.
* To prepare and validate reporting data and produce a suite of standard reports and analysis.
* To ensure that systems are tested, and any data quality issues can be explained or quantified.
* Adhoc reporting and analysis requests, often to tight timescales.
Qualifications
Person Specification
Technical Skills, Knowledge, Systems Knowledge (and associated skill level)
* Highly numerate analytical skill-set, with an eye for detail
* Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of MS office (MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Access) – experience with a Business Intelligence reporting tool (Business Objects, Crystal, etc) would be beneficial but not necessary.
* Team player with an open attitude to sharing ideas and knowledge
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Academic/Professional Qualifications (or equivalent qualifiers)
* Be of graduate level with a relevant degree
* Asset management or related financial sector experience would be beneficial but not essential
* Any prior experience working with data extraction and reporting tools Business Objects Xi/Crystal is advantageous, although full training will be provided on these applications.
