AML Associate (Support Analyst)
Job Duties:
- Timely and effective management of alerts to ensure potential suspicious activity is identified
- Appropriate assessment of potential watchlist matches
- Complies with the�documented processes in the unit, which are designed to identify matches�to lists of names and organisations on official watchlists published by the Bank of England�and other regulators.
- Demonstration of sound decision making to ensure only appropriate payments are released
- Effective use of investigative tools including the Internet and selected intelligence sources to ensure an appropriate balance between volume output and quality of investigations
- Development of a sound understanding of sanctions legislation and awareness of prevailing trends
- Maintenance of case records to include commentary on actions taken and audit trail of decisions made
- Provision of training and support to colleagues where necessary
- Provision of timely and appropriate guidance to internal stakeholders
Experience:
- Good working knowledge of back office;
- General knowledge of banking processes and procedures;
- Attention to detail
- Proven ability to assess information and make informed decisions;
- Ability to work on own initiative whilst adhering to Unit SLAs;
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
