AML COMPLIANCE MANAGER – Global Multi-Asset Manager – Luxembourg recruitment
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
This will involve going on-site to review the Asset Manager’s AML Risk across 20 countries around the world and over 200 potential and current distribution channels.
Eventually, this person will become the go-to contact for all AML issues around new distribution channels and all processes of the business including due-diligence and full report writing on each country and distributor.
Although this is not a management role per se, it is a senior position with genuine responsibility for the business, you will be a major part of the compliance team impacting business decisions globally.
As such, the role will also require 30 – 40% travel to the business’ international jurisdictions, to conduct on site due diligence checks before completing your reports. This is a super AML role!
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensuring that the Management Company’s AML/CTF Policy and risk assessment framework are maintained to a high standard
• Development and implementation of the Management Company’s AML/CTF due diligence and on-going oversight programme for distribution countries and appointed distributors of the Luxembourg domiciled funds.
• Day-to-day responsibility for responding to AML/CTF queries from the business on the Management Company’s AML/CTF risk-based approach or KYC issues.
• Main liaison for the Legal and Client Services departments to ensure that new distribution agreements incorporate appropriate AML clauses and obligations.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the Management Company Compliance department in delivering the on-going AML Monitoring Programme.
• To monitor all regulatory changes and assist in ensuring compliance of the Management Company and its funds at all times.
• Compliance Support and advisory assistance to employees and to the Management for any question related to AML.
• Contribute to the Compliance Charter with regard to AML and assist Senior Compliance Manager to fulfil the Company AML missions.
• To represent our client in local industry forums relating to AML and associations and when required to liaise with external parties on any matters arising from the above duties and responsibilities, such as Legal advisors, business partners, auditors or regulators.
Competencies
• University degree, preferably in Law or related disciplines.
• Considerable experience in the field(s) of financial Regulation and Compliance in Luxembourg.
• Solid understanding of investment funds, including both UCITS, non UCITS and SIF regulations.
• Fluent in English French. German, Spanish, or Italian would be an additional benefit.
• Detailed knowledge of the local Luxembourg regulatory and legal environment and a good understanding of EU and other international laws
