Analyst – Investment Policy recruitment
The Investment Policy department plays a key role in developing NBIMs investment strategy and in formulating Norges Bank’s strategic advice to the Ministry of Finance on the management of the Fund. The main responsibility is to advise asset owners on the best long-term investment strategy and to monitor financial markets to ensure continued improvements to our investment strategy. Further, we analyse long-term risk premiums and develop long-term return expectations across asset classes to provide assessments on the fund’s current asset and risk allocations.
The department is expanding and is looking to hire a dedicated professional for a position as Investment Analyst. The position is based in Oslo or London, and travel will be required.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain market models and strategic analysis integral to a dynamic asset or risk allocation framework
- Contribute to the formulation of strategic advice to asset owners and internal decision makers
- Participate in the assessment of existing and alternative asset classes and new investment products
- Relate with peer institutions, investment banks and other sources for investment insight and solutions
- Ensure proliferation of ideas into the investment organisation
- Coordinate and facilitate Norwegian Finance Initiative activities
Main Qualifications:
- Master's degree with strong academic records, preferably within finance or economics
- 2-4 years’ experience from a portfolio management, investment or risk analyst position in an investment bank, fund management organisation or central bank / multilateral organisation
- Excellent analytical skills and understanding financial markets
- Proficiency in statistical software such as R, S-Plus, Matlab is desirable
- Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English
