We are looking for a senior analyst to join our global EY knowledge team to manage and deliver on a portfolio of strategic analysis initiatives to support the global and EMEIA Assurance growth agenda
This role creates impact in strategic decision-making of the assigned community, by providing insightful analysis based on deep domain knowledge, using a range of analytical tools and techniques as well as internal and external databases. The analyst anticipates trends and issues in the business, tracks key players and presents analysis to target audiences including the assigned community team, firm leadership and EY clients.
The analyst supports the assigned community by leading, managing and contributing to complex research and analysis projects, including the design and delivery of products and services in response to customer needs. The analyst, in conjunction with the community leadership and other support managers (in knowledge, operations, business development, etc), also helps drive the creation of thought leadership to differentiate EY in the marketplace. Additionally, the analyst is also responsible for coaching customers on the use of knowledge tools and assisting customers to identify resources that address their requests.
The analyst networks with a virtual team of colleagues across the global knowledge community to serve the assigned community globally in a consistent and seamless manner. The analyst is also responsible for supervising, developing and mentoring colleagues (analysts and researchers) within the team.

Essential functions of the job:
Analysis:
- Works independently to produce insightful qualitative and/or quantitative analysis to fulfil both structured and unstructured requests to support assigned community, including the creation or the management of creation of community thought leadership, newsletters, internal briefings, early warning alerts and other deliverables.
- Breaks down events into causes and key drivers. Demonstrates the ability to develop multiple hypotheses regarding alternative conclusions, to investigate the alternatives and to recommend solutions. Draws together information from primary and secondary sources to prove or disprove hypotheses.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of analytical tools and techniques, including those specific to the community, and deftly adapts those tools to address analytical issues.
- Possesses a detailed understanding of the assigned community. Demonstrates deep knowledge and awareness of information sources, contacts and relevant domain experts. Keeps domain knowledge current.
- Transforms ideas into insights and outlines possible outcomes or implications. Demonstrates the ability to use 'what if' approaches to determine impact of changes on all areas of a client's business or logical next steps if status quo continues. Shows confidence in articulating and defending own perspectives and recommendations.
- Is well conversant with EY service offerings and go to market strategies. Demonstrates the ability to link EY solutions to community trends and issues.
- Possesses the ability to collect information from individuals using direct interviewing and elicitation techniques. Is able to adapt the approach, collection techniques and questions during interview to the knowledge of key topics.
- Demonstrates the ability to test hypotheses across multiple sources to determine directionality as well as the ability to correctly determine the source's credibility (accurate level of knowledge and depth of correct understanding).
- Actively manages a network of primary sources and regularly engages them for project needs.
- Leads multidisciplinary teams, often working virtually across service lines and geographies.
- Mentors and teaches others about community-specific research methodologies and tools. Reviews colleagues' deliverables and advises on development of distinctive points of view for the deliverable's key findings and guides them raising their current level of analysis. Participates in the training and development of community members to develop their understanding of the focus area.

- Maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders in the assigned community (i.e., Service Line Leaders, executive leadership, Sector Leader, account leaders, partners, account coordinators, marketing, operations and Business Development). Interfaces with EY and community leadership on a formal and informal basis to share insights and emerging viewpoints.
- Maintains regular contact with subject matter specialists, both within and external to EY.
- Works to become a trusted virtual team member with key leadership groups. Is acknowledged as a core member of the community networks.
- Is sought out by the business regularly for advice and insight on industry or service line issues.
- Conducts presentations, training, and workshops for internal and external clients on key business issues/developments.
Project management:
- Develops project plans and manage projects, including objectives, timelines, milestones, priorities, team member responsibilities, work products, and engagement economics.
- Monitors teams' progress and regularly update stakeholders on potential overruns and changes; re-negotiate timelines, scope changes and budgets if necessary.
- Develops project work products collaboratively with team members that focus on measurable business impact.
Analytical/decision making responsibilities:
- Understands the context of the request and the end-use of the information, and translates it into an actionable and achievable request. Identifies issues and proposes an analytic approach which satisfies the customer's requirements.
- Leads customer decision-makers and stakeholders to clarify project resources, timelines, work products and potential barriers to success. Balances multiple priorities by considering risk, importance, level of urgency, political impacts and other linkages (e.g., focus on the right activities or issues to work on from a range of competing alternatives).

Knowledge and skills requirements:
- Strong oral and written communication skills ; excellent presentation skills.

Skills
Education:
- Relevant tertiary education (e.g., economics, finance, business studies, statistics, law or related subjects) or equivalent work experience
- Masters degree or postgraduate qualification an advantage
Experience:
- 8+ years experience in a corporate environment.
- Detailed knowledge and proven track record in conducting industry analysis and research (specify country of language as appropriate).
- Knowledge and experience within a professional services environment an advantage.
Supervision Responsibilities:
- Ability to work independently
- Reviews the work of colleagues and mentors their skill development
