Division Mandate:
The mandate of the Customer Analytical Center of Excellence of Canadian Tire Bank is to build familiarity with our credit card customers in order to strengthen the customer relationship with Canadian Tire Corporation. Charged with designing, executing, and analyzing direct to customer marketing campaigns with both CTFS and CTC SBUs, the Marketing Analytics Department will enable the future growth of the corporation. Providing insight into historical campaigns will enable the Marketing Analytics department to help drive marketing decisions in future campaigns.
 
Position Summary:
The Analyst reports to the Manager, Marketing Analytics. This position is responsible for the set up of marketing campaigns that will allow statistically significant results to be obtained, coding campaigns into the campaign management tool, fulfillment of campaigns, and the post analysis to determine campaign success and providing recommendations for future campaigns. There is a significant amount of cross-divisional collaboration to ensure accurate and high quality promotions are being executed. The Analyst will also participate in Business Council and other projects and be asked for a variety of ad-hoc analysis.
 
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up marketing campaigns based on objectives obtained through written and verbal communication with our business partners that incorporate test and control groups wherever possible, increasingly with focus toward retail analytics and retail direct to consumer marketing
- Create and execute campaigns in the marketing campaign management software
- Execute fulfillment for participating accounts where required by the campaign
- Provide ongoing campaign tracking results when required
- Provide post analysis upon completion of the campaign or a suitable performance period indicating success of the campaign, and providing recommendations and key learning for future campaigns
- Participate in business council and other projects as a team lead considering both marketing analytics and credit risk perspectives
- Perform ad hoc analysis as requested by the manager
 
Position Opportunities:
The Marketing Analytics team is a high performing analytics team within the Customer Analytic Center of Excellence. The team has a long history of providing the highest quality marketing campaign delivery and execution for over 250 separate campaigns per year, and providing accurate and timely reporting. As the successful candidate you will learn the marketing side of the business as well as increase your analytic abilities. You will learn the operational systems, and will continually be encouraged to provide deeper and deeper levels of insight to the analysis you do. In addition you will have the opportunity to learn about Credit Risk, Modeling and Segmentation, and Marketing Operations, as they are all components that must be considered to build and analyze a successful marketing campaign

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- University degree in an area requiring analytical or logical thinking
- Demonstrated superior analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills
- 2+ years experience in Retail Analytics and Retail database marketing
- Programming experience, especially with data extraction/mining tools e.g. SAS and SQL
- Strong Excel skills
- Extra attention to detail
- Proven ability to translate business needs into program requirements.
 
Assets:
- Experience working in, or with, Marketing
- Knowledge of credit card business
- Proficient in application of analytical and presentation tools
- Previous experience in unsecured lending/credit cards
