Analyst – Municipal Capital Markets, Structuring
The Municipal Capital Markets desk at Deutsche Bank structures and executes capital markets solutions for municipal issuers, including States, cities, government agencies and not-for-profit higher education and health care institutions. These solutions include interest rate swaps and options, tax-exempt and taxable financing alternatives and other structured solutions. The Analyst will serve as a junior marketer and structurer on the desk, supporting senior markers and providing analytical and execution support for clients and their transactions.
The Analyst will have extensive exposure to interest rate swap and option pricing, tax-exempt and taxable bond structuring and pricing and the credit analysis and legal documentation that belies all transactions. As the junior member of a small desk, the Analyst will have extensive exposure to senior members of the municipal structuring and trading teams, as well as client-facing opportunities.
Background
The ideal candidate will have approximately one to two years experience on a municipal or an interest rate swaps desk, building financial models and pricing various financial structures. This role will suit someone who is very ambitious, driven and eager to be an integral part of a small team.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities would include
- Structuring and pricing interest rate swaps and options
- Structuring and pricing tax-exempt and taxable bond and lease financings
- Preparation of presentation material for clients and partners
- Some client set-up and trade entry duties to support the trading desk
Professional and Personal Qualifications
- One to Two years experience on a trading desk or in public finance
- Series 7 / 63
- Be diligent, efficient and able to manage multiple conflicting deliverables including working under pressure
- Financial modeling experience (MS Excel, DBC, etc.)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong interpersonal/communication, planning and organizational skills
- Willing to take on challenging tasks
