ANALYST – CONTRACT recruitment
They are looking for people who will work as part of a team to analyse, specify propose solutions, test and implement changes to the quotation systems, policy administration systems and online services that are key to the functioning of the company. In this role the successful candidate will also provide information and technical support to a range of internal and external customers.
With excellent analytical skills, coupled with a high level of numeracy the role holder will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the calculations and data within our systems.
The role holder will start off working with other experienced Analysts in the department. As they become more experienced we will ask you to take on more responsibility; for example, leading projects and representing the department on projects across the Company. Your ability to communicate effectively and quickly establish credibility will ensure your success in this role.
Core Responsibilities:
- Analysing complex technical problems and being creative in identifying practical solutions that can be implemented within challenging timescales.
- Taking a risk based pragmatic approach to testing exercises – balancing your desire for a high quality result against the project risks and time cost constraints being placed on you by the project.
- Providing options and recommendations for balancing requirements of a project and tight timescales against quality and available resource.
- Quickly formulating solutions to complex problems and implementing those solutions.
- Understanding the implications of changes for other parts of the business and taking action to mitigate adverse effects.
- Effectively presenting complex technical issues and their impact on customers.
- Maintaining knowledge of Company products, systems and the regulations governing Life, Pensions and Investment so that illustrations continue to be accurate and compliant at all times.
- Production issues analysed, raised and ranked appropriately in accordance with agreed processes.

Core Requirements:
- Essential:
- Excellent proven analytical skills.
- Excellent numerical ability / Higher Maths.
- Capability and willingness to gain knowledge of PC applications, such as Word, Excel, Access and Visual Basic, and their more complex functionality.
- Desirable:
- A university degree in Mathematics or a related discipline, e.g. Statistics.
- Proven analysis experience and successful delivery on time and on budget of multiple projects.
- A good working knowledge of the Company’s Life and / or Pension products and Systems.
- Knowledge of FSA rules and other legislation governing Life and Pension products.
