ABOUT THE BUSINESS:
Corporate Financial Services (CFS) is part of the Business and Private Banking (BPB) business unit of the Commonwealth Bank. The CFS team serves over 12,000 clients with complex financial needs and over $10m in revenue. The division is well placed to provide medium and large companies with access to a wide range of financial services with approximately 800 professionals in nearly 50 locations across Australia.
Corporate Finance Portfolio Management (CFPM), which is part of CFS, was recently established to provide specialist support to the Relationship Executive network within CFS across a discreet selection of high value transactions (the 'portfolio'). The majority of transactions at present are cash flow based acquisition finance loans to private equity owned clients of the CFS team.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The purpose of this new opportunity, which will support the Executive Manager, CFPM, is to produce high quality analysis of reporting information from our clients, assist in the automation and preparation of portfolio reporting information, prepare presentation materials, liaise with clients and internal stakeholders, and collate industry research. For the right person, there is the opportunity to take ownership and accountability for a selection of portfolio clients. The role requires a professional, passionate and performance driven candidate, with a CAN do attitude, focused on leading businesses to tomorrow.
DUTIES:
- Assisting with the review of client's financial results through detailed financial analysis of profit loss statements, cash flow statements and balance sheets
- Research, analyse and develop detailed insights/reports
- Assisting in the preparation of internal credit papers for approval by risk for new financing facilities and amendments to existing facilities
- Broader portfolio analysis including various monthly control and process checks
- Assisting in the preparation of annual reviews for portfolio clients
- Analyse reports and prepare and recommend strategies for the business
- Financial modelling
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
You have developed outstanding skills in financial analysis, stakeholder management, financial modelling, cashflow lending, research, problem solving, and will have strong verbal, written and presentation skills. You will be driven, highly organised and goal orientated and you will have a good understanding of the Corporate Finance/Corporate Banking industry. You will have good commercial acumen/market awareness and we envisage that you will also have a great energy, passion, a CAN do attitude and have the ability to drive change, influence, be insightful and work in a results driven business/team. A degree in Business/Finance and/or Commerce is an advantage, along with potentially having an accountancy professional qualification and experience in Private Equity backed acquisition finance and / or an understanding of Australian insolvency practices.
