Analyst, Corporate & Investment Banking – Syndications recruitment
The team works closely with Mizuho’s relationship managers to structure and price senior debt for leveraged buyouts and corporate and project finance transactions for a variety of clients, including financial sponsors and domestic and multinational corporations. The team maintains extensive coverage of the loan market and has access to a broad universe of investors to market and distribute Mizuho’s underwritten and best-efforts transactions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.) General Responsibilities:
The Analyst will play an active role in supporting senior bankers in structuring, underwriting, marketing and syndicating loans backing sponsored and corporate transactions. The Analyst will also be responsible for a significant amount of analytical work (quantitative and qualitative) in support of new financing proposals, client presentations and other high-value-added functions.
- Market monitoring, deal tracking and information gathering
- Researching market trends, optimal pricing and capital structures for new underwriting opportunities
- Performing comparable analyses for prospective transactions
- Assisting in the preparation of pitchbooks, presentations and various applications and reports under strict deadlines
- Drafting market updates, memoranda and other written deliverables under strict deadlines
- Evaluating and analyzing financial statements and projections, financial models, credit documentation and marketing materials
- Conducting company, financial and industry due diligence
- League table reporting
2.) Technical Skills:
- Very strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
- Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- General understanding of corporate/leveraged finance, capital/financial markets and generally accepted accounting principles

- Undergraduate degree; major in finance and/or economics preferred
- 1-2 year(s) internship and/or professional experience in financial services preferred
