Thomson Reuters Deals Intelligence, a part of Thomson Reuters Investment Banking division, brings up to the minute market intelligence to our clients and the financial media through a variety of research reports including Daily Deals Insight, weekly Investment Banking Scorecard, monthly Deals Snapshots and our industry-leading quarterly reviews highlighting trends in MA and Capital Markets.
Analyst, Deals Intelligence
The position will be within the Deals Intelligence team and will focus on mining Thomson Reuters market leading content surrounding Mergers Acquisitions, Private Equity, Venture Capital and the Global Capital Markets. The key output will be to create reports and swift insightful reactions to breaking news for distribution the Thomson Reuters public relations team, journalists at key financial media outlets and clients. The analyst will need to be able to brief key media on this proactive research - which will focus on areas including MA and capital markets activity as well as other investment banking-related content.
- Identify newsworthy events affecting the markets and create swift and timely research/commentary around these events.
- Utilize Thomson Reuters tools to create reports as necessary for use in analysis.
- Deliver research in 'media friendly' format.
- Explain/brief journalists on proactive research - with confidence and authority.
- Plan and execute Thomson Reuters print media and social media outreach- in line with global research and PR program.
- Service media requests for financial data.
- Experience using Thomson Reuters solutions such as Thomson ONE, SDC DataStream, preferable but not required
- Proven experience briefing media/journalists, preferable but not required

- 2-3 years experience within the financial or media markets
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong PowerPoint skills
- Strong Analytical skills
- Strong Communication skills - written and verbal
- Highly motivated and creative self starter
- Desire to extend financial markets knowledge
- Bachelors Degree preferred
