Analyst – Fund Research recruitment
Main objective is delivery of out-performance through the on-going management of dedicated fund research portfolios (building blocks). Experience (5-7 years+) seniority sought as a strong addition to a stable team. The successful candidate will actively contribute to all aspects of our investment process. They will contribute to the team’s primary activity, which is the assessment (both quantitative qualitative) of various investment strategies of external asset management firms. The successful candidate will also be very involved in the monitoring review process for these investment strategies. The candidate will become familiar with our quantitative platform (FACTSET), to maintain suggest enhancements to already-established quantitative screening tools methodologies, peer groups of funds, performance risk monitoring tools. The maintenance improvement of our quantitative platform is a key task within the team. Furthermore, as part of the broader Multi-Asset team, the candidate is expected to contribute to idea-generation with respect to the investment strategies employed across the Multi-Asset portfolios.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The Analyst will undertake quantitative analysis on investment strategies managed by 3rd party managers
- Management of dedicated fund research portfolios comprising “best-of-breed” managers
- Work closely with the existing team of Portfolio Managers to generate return for clients, maintaining the integrity of the established investment process.
- He/she will also contribute to the growth of assets under management, through positive return but also by active participation in the development and evaluation of new ideas, as appropriate.
- Generate fund investment ideas for use in our fund-of-fund portfolios
- Contribute to formulation of investment strategies to be employed across Multi-Asset Portfolios
QUALIFICATIONS:
University Degree (in finance / economics related subject)
CFA preferred, but not required. Demonstrate willingness to work towards CFA.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have some demonstrable experience in the investment arena demonstrating use of numerical analytical skills. Must also demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, acquire knowledge.
- Strong academic credentials and working experience within the investment industry.
- Flexible attitude to work in a fluid and changing environment.
- A team player - driven to do well but puts the interest of the team ahead of his/her personal gain.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Fluent English
- Good analytical skills
- Knowledge of systems coupled with strong IT skills a big plus.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Must understand the Multi-Manager product and the process used to analyse and assess the funds. This includes a quantitative analysis methodology.
- Must be proactive and disciplined.
- Must maintain integrity and demonstrate sound judgement and rigour in all decisions.
- Must be comfortable and communicative working in a team environment.
