Analyst III, Market Risk
Job Summary:
Assist QRA in providing ongoing training and technical advice to ROOR Examination and Surveillance staff for the development and enhancement of the examination and surveillance programs and other initiatives related to market, credit and operational risk management practices and regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist ANC examiners in all aspect of ANC examinations including:
- Planning (explaining complicated trading strategies and related risks, products and hedging strategies and recommending areas to focus on).
- Execution (meeting with and interviewing traders and risk managers); analyzing trading data and associated risk pricing methodologies).
- Finalizing (drafting and reviewing write-ups and exceptions/recommendations).
- Assist FINOP examiners with pricing reviews of complex products and stress testing methodologies, assumptions and results.
- Assist the QRA and Credit Regulation in reviewing and assessing the risks associated with new products introduced by member firms and exchanges, and the margining methodology associated with various exchanges such as CME and CBOE.
- Assist other regulators in joint ANC and BD Lite application reviews with respect to risk management and quantitative reviews.
- Perform special projects and participate in special examinations related to market, credit and operational risk assessments, as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting. Master's Degree in a quantitative area, FRM or CFA preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical models and their application in measuring market, credit and operational risk.
- Three to five years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of theoretical approaches used to price financial derivatives.
- Knowledge of cash and derivative products.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Work is normally performed in an office environment, with extended hours when necessary.
