Fund Management, Corporate Finance and PSG Departments
The following three departments are responsible for real estate investment strategy and execution:
- Fund Management Department, responsible for portfolio-level strategy and client relationship management, comprises a total of 90 investment professionals operating across Europe and Asia.
- Corporate Finance Department, responsible principally for financing and corporate transactions and structuring, comprises 15 dedicated professionals across Europe and Asia.
- Property and Services Group (PSG), responsible for in-territory acquisitions, developments and asset management, comprises 180 people in 12 countries across Europe and Asia.
The Role
AXA Real Estate is looking to hire interns to join its intern/analyst pool. Your role will be to support its Fund Management, Corporate Finance and PSG departments. This position is an exciting role for a successful candidate, who will provide support on specific projects undertaken by all three of the above departments. The intern will thus gain wide exposure to the various teams and functions within the company, as well as the opportunity to work across a number of territories, in many cases.
Location
Analysts will be based either in Paris.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include the following:
Transactions
- Modelling acquisition cash flows (share deals or asset deals)
- Contribute to investment memorandum
- Contribute to the closing of the transactions (corporate approvals, power of attorneys, wire transfers…) with local counsels and acquisition team
- Market monitoring and follow up
Financing
- Assist in following up of financing covenants and reporting to banks
Budgeting and Reporting
- Follow up of property business plans and analyse the portfolio
- Assist in collecting quarterly updates on the properties from Asset Managers (rent rolls, capex, opex…) and analyse resulting data
- Contribute to production of the annual budget and other reporting to the client
RFPs and Client Presentations
- Coordinate with other AXA Real Estate teams to compile and produce comprehensive and coherent documents
- Articulate the results of real estate and financial analysis in a thorough and articulate manner
Key Skills Required:
- Currently undertaking an undergraduate, master degree or an MBA with finance, investment management and/or real estate focus, or an alternative degree with a strong interest in these fields. Ideally last year of studies.
- Analytical skills
- Organisational skills and rigorous. Able to multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Diligent and a committed team player
- IT skills (excel cash flow analysis and forecast, PowerPoint)
- Very good level in English. Applications from international students are welcome. An additional European language is also of advantage
- Ability to evolve and communicate in an international environment
- Experience or keen interest in real estate (players, product and markets)
