Position:
The Investment Analytics group within Dimensional is a core member of the Investments team, providing quality data and analysis to Portfolio Management, Trading, Research, Marketing, Institutional Client Services, and Financial Advisors Services.
This position works within London’s Investment Analytics team, which is responsible for analyzing the quality of investment data within Dimensional and distributing that data throughout the company in ways which both run and evaluate the investment process. The Analytics involve portfolio decision systems, attributions and characteristics systems, and other key investment and reporting processes within Dimensional.
This position involves some ad-hoc day-to-day activities and regular (monthly, quarterly) reporting requirements, and there is also significant project based work. Those projects usually involve gathering data from large data sets, performing analysis of that data, and then presenting the findings to other investments personnel. The analysis performed can have a significant impact on investment strategy, so attention to detail is crucial, as is inventiveness at finding different ways to analyze the relevant data.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with portfolio managers and traders as well as client service personnel to explain reports, research-related concepts, etc.
- Maintain and develop tools for portfolio analysis
- Use data on mutual funds and individual securities to generate reports
- Collect, validate, organize, and analyze data
- Manage processes involving primary investment data for the organization
- Perform various projects involving data analysis and presentation
Qualifications:
- Self-starter who is capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred; coursework in Economics, Finance, Engineering or Computer Science desirable.
- Solid quantitative problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented
- Strong computer skills (Excel, SQL) with the ability to learn programs as needed
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
