Job Description Provides desktop, basic application, and telecom support at Eaton locations including the resolution of tickets (incidents and requests) generated by the Service Desk ticketing system. This position will participate in the centralized support for IT applications and systems to ensure timely, reliable, cost effective service to Eaton employees and customers. Performs daily activities relating to IT Site Infrastructure Support (SIS) of Data Networks ? especially LAN, PCs, Servers, Telephony, and related systems. These functions are expected to encompass more than 50% of the daily activities of the position, although the actual time spent can vary greatly on a day to day basis. Possesses a detailed technical understanding of existing systems. Performs testing and evaluation of systems as part of a team. Performs analysis of system related issues. Creates system documentation and best practices in concert with other team members. The successful candidate will also be responsible for working collaboratively with the Zone SIS team and Corporate IT functional groups and participates on initiatives that are part of Eaton Business System processes, which raise the quality of support provided across the entire organization. This position may be responsible for all IT infrastructure initiatives and directives that impact the location. They may be the primary IT SIS point of contact for business leadership at the site. Participates in the research of assigned technologies, determines business requirements, and proposes changes. Provides input into the technology strategy for Site Infrastructure Support Group. A. Provides 1st and/or 2nd level PC support as applicable for infrastructure hardware and software in order to provide the customer with a workaround or a fix. B. Provides site infrastructure support at sites and, at smaller sites, may be the main point of contact for site infrastructure support. C. Participates in IT initiatives. D. Participates on projects as directed by IT Site Infrastructure Support (SIS). E. Coordinates, schedules, tests, implements and documents application upgrades or patches in order to remain on current levels of software utilized in the supported sites. F. Gathers information needed to support IT business metrics. G. Maintains control of desktop software and hardware in order to ensure license compliancy and asset management. H. Implement software and hardware upgrades to support IT initiatives and comply with established standards. I. Maintain infrastructure in order to decrease downtime and maintain quality. J. Stays current with industry trends in Information Technology advancements. K. Partner with other groups to seek out opportunities to increase end-user operational efficiency. L. May provide guidance and/or escalated support and problem resolution to more complex issues. Critical contact for infrastructure outages that cause negative business impact. Work environment ranges from office to manufacturing floor situations. May be contacted after hours for emergencies. Must be able to work well under pressure. Travel ? up to 10%. Position Criteria: ? Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Operating Systems, familiarity with manufacturing applications where applicable, networking, basic telephony. ? ITIL, MCSA, or comparable certification desirable. ? Under the direction of a project manager participates in projects of various scale. ? Fundamental knowledge of, and training in Eaton project management processes and methodology. Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) ? Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited institution ? Minimum 3 years? experience in site infrastructure support ? No relocation is offered for this position. Candidates must live within 50 miles of Spartanburg, SC to be considered for this position. ?
