Analyst, Labor Control
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to support Store Operations financial goals and senior management operating priorities by effectively and efficiently planning and managing labor expenses. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Identify, formulate, test, and deploy solutions to labor scheduling and/or budgeting issues with financial and/or operational impact.
- Develop, produce, and troubleshoot reports or decision support tools for expenses including but not limited to labor.
- Develop turnkey reports, and including data gathering, processing, automation, documentation, accuracy, and resolving issues and questions.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses of expense issues at the request of corporate or field Store Operations management.
- Resolve store-specific labor scheduling or reporting issues utilizing a trouble ticket reporting system, in coordination with email, phone, or fax communications.
- Update the technical configuration of an internally developed and managed software scheduling tool to ensure scheduling accuracy and compliance with corporate standards and budget. Monitor the system to identify potential issues and ensure consistent and accurate functionality at the corporate and store levels.
- Provide project management for small to medium expense control projects as needed
- Develop accurate labor standards using a time and detail intensive industrial engineering discipline.

The following qualities are helpful:
- Ability to work weekends on a rare basis.
- Ten-key punch speed of seven thousand (7,000) SPH.
- Typing speed of forty (40) WPM.
- Knowledge or experience with relational database design and/or maintenance.
- Experience with SQL Server 2005 or SQL query language and Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) is preferred.
- Experience with predetermined motion time systems such as MOST, MTM, or MODAPTS.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business or related field, plus three (3) years experience as an analyst; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Retail experience is preferred but not required.
