Institutional Banking Markets (IBM) is responsible for the provision of products and services to nearly 3000 major corporate, institutional and government clients. This is achieved through origination, structuring and execution of on and off balance sheet products that are enhanced through the efficient application of taxation, accounting, risk and capital management technologies. Institutional Banking Markets is the primary face to the market for all complex financing and advisory functions for the Bank's corporate and government clients.
This role will be responsible for supporting the client team in the business origination and relationship management of a portfolio of Natural Resources Institutional Banking clients, across the applicable range of Bank products and markets, in order to position the Commonwealth Bank as a meaningful financial services provider to this sector.
Key Accountabilities:
- Developing a working knowledge of CBA's product range;
- Performing industry analysis on targeted sectors and client segments for the purpose of identifying common needs for these client groups to support business origination initiatives;
- Working with the Executive Manager and Relationship Executives to identify target companies suitable for addition to the portfolio of Natural Resources clients;
- Providing input into portfolio and client specific marketing plans which reflect the international client strategy, product strategies and strengths, market developments and opportunities;
- Undertaking financial and capital structure analysis for target and existing clients within institutional banking, to identify their financial service needs and evaluate the financial options and solutions available to meet these needs;
- Assisting Relationship Executives in developing client-focused presentations (including marketing pitches, relationship reviews and discussion papers) based on company specific research, analysis and relevant CBA product capabilities;
- Completing input (ROTE analysis, LCEP, pricing sign off, liaison with Risk for completion of draft submission) for annual review and new submissions arising from specific marketing initiatives/opportunities;
- Preparing of facility documentation (offer letters, facility agreements) to be reviewed with the direct Manager and appropriate Risk Executive prior to forwarding to clients;
- Interfacing with clients, product specialists on new product implementation, problem resolution and client service issues;
- Monitoring the performance of the team in terms of calling activity, marketing pitches, deals won/lost, deal pipelines and other criteria and prepare reports, assuming primary responsibility for maintenance of Commsee, CRIS, and other data management systems
To be successful in this role you will have strong analytical skills along with advanced excel modelling capabilities. Experience in a similar role within banking or management consultancy essential.
