Navigant Economics, a subsidiary of Navigant, provides economic and financial analysis of legal and business issues to law firms, corporations and government agencies. It includes more than 30 Ph.D. economists and over 100 consulting professionals, many of whom are affiliated with leading academic institutions including the University of Chicago, Georgetown University, Northwestern University and the George Mason University School of Law.
The Position:
Analyst -- Location
We have an immediate opening for an Analyst in Navigant Economics. This position supports a Managing Director within the Economics practice, and includes 50% administrative work and 50% analytical work on behalf of Clients. The Navigant Economics team includes more than 130 leading academic and industry professional consultants with offices in Chicago, New York, and Washington DC. Candidates must demonstrate superior judgment, and superior professionalism, must be mature, focused, organized, and able to work independently and multi-task while prioritizing work load. We are looking for someone who is energetic, pro-active, and personable, with excellent follow-up skills and initiative. Candidate must possess research skills, be willing to learn how to use databases, statistical tools, and must be a good writer. Candidate must be a team player who can juggle a wide range of tasks and activities. Flexible hours and overtime hours are required, and may be unexpected at times.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to a Managing Director in the Economics practice
- Demonstrate excellent customer service with individuals at all levels both internal and external
- Receive, review and route incoming mail, telephone inquiries, complex requests
- Create and reconcile expense reports, and coordinate cost-effective related travel often working with schedules of multiple participants
- Coordinate complex meeting schedules among a wide range of people
- Organize and host events
- Communicate with Clients, prepare Client correspondence, review Client bills
- Conduct research on behalf of Client cases and under the direction of the case manager(s)
- Interact with a wide variety of databases which support the Client’s case including posting, searching, modifying, tagging, organizing, and archiving of sensitive legal documents
- Edit, proofread, and assist in the preparation of legal documents and reports
- Able to work weekends, evenings, on an as-needed basis, and to alter hours to accommodate professionals’ complex schedules.

Qualifications:
- Experience working with senior level executives and/or academics, in an Economics Consulting firm, Professional Services or Consulting firm environment, or an academic environment, or commensurate work in a similar environment
- Four year college degree is preferred, or commensurate level of experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and Microsoft Outlook
- Knowledge of databases for research
- Supervisory experience in a professional services environment
- Excellent judgment, and ability to communicate appropriately with senior staff, valued clients from law firms and major companies, and related constituencies
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) including writing, proofreading and editing
