The Rates Independent Valuation Control Group, within the Global Finance Department, is responsible for the Price Testing (risk based) of all fixed income products. The core responsibilities of the team are to ensure the accurate valuation for the New York Desk positions.
Main Function
This role will also be responsible for appropriate price testing for vanilla rates options trades. Some interaction with PCG mgmt, Front Office, Risk and IT. This person will work closely with the team and will liaise with the business to gain a strong understanding of the positions, the rationale of execution, and estimated profitability.
Price Testing and Reporting:
- Ensure adequate curve and risk usage.
- Ensure completeness and accurate representation of the risk associated with the external and internal rate spreads.
- Gain deep understanding of the price testing process and of the control environment, as well as downstream and upstream impacts. Improve the existing processes through automation and reengineering of the spreadsheets.
- Perform price testing on vanilla products and ad-hoc pricing analysis.
- Provide analysis and commentary to the team for the products price tested and analyzed. Some interaction with auditors.
Main Duties
- Monthly price verification calculation process
- Review periodically the methodology and spreads for bid offer
- Monthly price testing adjustment calculation
- Liaise with the trading desk, risk, technology, operations, finance and other divisions as it relates to PV and reserve calculations
- Ad hoc projects
Person Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of working experience
- Sound product knowledge in fixed income and interest rate derivatives
- Highly motivated and driven to succeed in a challenging environment
- Strong MS Office skills. Also, a plus for experts in MS Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a quantitative discipline
- Previous experience in a price testing area within a Financial Institution
- Fixed income experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills in both the written and verbal form
- Detail oriented - proactive and tenacious approach to problem solving
