Position Description:
AGS on behalf of RBS represents contract and temporary opportunities for RBS MIB (Markets and International Banking). We have an outstanding contract opportunity for a Analyst Programmer to make their mark with one of the world's largest international banking and financial services companies. In the role of a Analyst Programmer, you will play an integral role in helping our client deliver market leading services that set it apart from its competitors.
**** Please note that we are looking for an experienced Analyst Programmer with previous experience of OUTSOURCING due to the global nature of the team aims and goals. This is MANDATORY. The person must also have come from a 'blue chip' background due to the 'industrial strength' of the solutions in mind. Also mandatory is expertise in MS DEVELOPMENT STACK. The team that this person will be joining currently manage a suite of applications required by Markets and Investment Banking to manage, plan and report resource changes. They provide services to Senior Management, HR, Business Managers, Line Managers and individuals
The team is global in nature with 28 personnel, split between India and the UK, with the bulk of there development completed in India
This is a pivotal role within the UK based solutions architecture team and will assist in the functional design and development of 'proof of concepts' allowing the team to articulate conceptual and functional application design to the India development team.
The role will involve;
- Working with Business Analysts to ensure that business requirements documents are fit for purpose from a development perspective.
- Working with Business Analysts, end users and other developers to ensure a robust design is captured
- Working within the development team to ensure other team members are able to successfully implement the solution.
- Hands on implementation of certain key aspects of the solution as needed.
- Providing input into the strategic direction of the applications in the portfolio.
- Ensure that any solutions designed will progress towards the agreed strategy.
The candidate will be required to communicate with end customers, developers, other internal IT teams and be able to articulate between the requirements and the technical solution.
Additional Position Details:
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
- Excellent understanding of good design and coding
- Previous experience of collaborating with an Offshore team / working in global teams split between various locations.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Appreciation of design patterns, having gained experience on 'industrial strength' solutions.
- Exposure to a range of web technologies and the Microsoft development stack e.g. ASP.NET, MVC, AJAX, Javascript based frameworks e.g. JQuery
- Good Database skills utilising MS SQL Server 2005 / 2008
- Experience of the full software development life cycles (waterfall and agile)
- Experience of producing functional specifications.
- Experience Experience capturing requirements directly from end users.
